What we build

Most businesses need a better website. Some need a system behind it too.

  1. 01

    Business websites

    From KES 50,000

Customers check you out online before they call. If the site is dated, slow on a phone or unclear about what you do, they move on.

A website designed for your business that explains what you do, shows your work and makes getting in touch one tap away.

Restaurant website homepage from the Ares portfolio
  2. 02

    E-commerce & customer journeys

Orders come in through DMs and you’re checking M-Pesa messages by hand. Fine, until it gets busy.

An online store with a clear catalogue, a short checkout with M-Pesa or card, and every order in one place.

  3. 03

    Digital systems

Work runs on spreadsheets, calls and chat groups, and nobody has the full picture.

Custom web applications for bookings, operations, payments and events, connected to the tools you already use.

A system we built

The ordering system we built for a Nairobi printing company. Customers pick their options and the price updates as they go. This is the live interface.

How it works

No jargon. You’ll always know what’s being built, what it costs and when we need you.

  1. Conversation

A call or meeting about your business, your customers and what the website or system needs to do.

  2. Proposal

Pages, features, cost and timeline in writing, before any work starts.

  3. Design

You review the key screens before anything is built, and we refine them with you.

  4. Build & test

We build, add your content and test on real phones and slower connections. You review the working site.

  5. Launch & support

We put it live, show your team how to update it and stay on hand for changes.

What happens after I get in touch?
We reply in the WhatsApp chat or by email with a few questions, then arrange a short call about your business.
How is the scope set?
In a written proposal that lists the pages, features, cost and timeline. Work starts once you’ve agreed it.
What do I need to provide?
Your logo, the basics about your services and any photos you’d like to use. Missing some? Most clients are. We’ll plan the gaps together.
How are changes handled?
You review the design and then the working site, and changes are made at those stages. The proposal sets out what’s included.
Shawn Opil, founder of Ares Experience Systems

Hi, I’m Shawn.

Think about a business answering the same questions on WhatsApp all day, losing enquiries because its website doesn’t explain what it does, or running orders through way more steps than it needs. That’s not really a tech problem. It’s a business problem. That’s the thinking behind Ares.

Common questions

Something else? Just ask.

How much does a website cost?

Business websites start from KES 50,000. The final price depends on the number of pages, features such as online payments, bookings or a store, and how much content needs writing. You get the cost in a written proposal before any work starts.

Do I need a website or a system?

If customers need to find you, understand what you do and get in touch, a website. If your team is running orders, bookings or payments through spreadsheets and chats, you may also need a system. Tell us how things work today and we’ll recommend the simplest option.

How long does a project take?

It depends on the scope and how quickly content is ready. Your proposal includes a timeline. The most common cause of delay is waiting for text and photos, so we help you plan those early.

Can you add M-Pesa or connect our other tools?

Yes, where the provider allows it. M-Pesa runs through Safaricom or an approved payment provider and needs your business Paybill or Till. Other tools, such as accounting or messaging, depend on each provider’s API and terms. We’ll tell you up front what depends on someone else.

Who looks after hosting and the domain?

We can set them up or work with what you already have. Domains and hosting are paid to those providers, and we explain the costs before you commit.

What happens after launch?

We show you how to update your content and stay on hand for fixes, changes and new features. Ongoing support can be arranged if you’d rather we handle updates.

Tell us what you need.

Not sure whether you need a website or something bigger? That’s a good place to start the conversation.

Rather talk it through?
