Design and engineering, one team.

Ares Experience Systems is a web studio in Nairobi. We build websites for businesses that want to be taken seriously, and systems for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and chat groups.

Hi, I’m Shawn.

I started Ares Experience Systems, and I’m the person you’ll be talking to when you get in touch.

My background is in digital marketing and design. So when I look at a website, I look at it the way your customers do. Can I tell what you offer? Do I trust you? Can I take the next step without hunting for it?

I’ve always been interested in how a business shows up online and how it actually runs behind the scenes. Think about a business answering the same questions on WhatsApp every day. Or losing enquiries because the website doesn’t explain the services. Or running orders through a process that takes way more effort than it should.

That’s not really a tech problem. It’s a business problem.

That’s the thinking behind Ares. Design and development together: websites that help you win work, and when you need it, the systems that make the day-to-day easier.

Every project starts with a conversation about what you’re trying to achieve, what’s getting in the way, and what would actually make a difference.

I’m not interested in building something that just looks impressive. I want it to work for you, your team and the people you serve.

Got something you want to improve? Let’s talk about it.

How we work

  • 01

A website should earn its place

Looking good is the minimum. It should explain clearly, build trust and bring in work for the business behind it.

  • 02

A system should join things up

Software that does one job in isolation usually creates two more. We build for the connections between the parts.

  • 03

    Understand the problem first

Before we design anything, we want to know how the business actually runs, and where it hurts.

  • 04

    Same care at every size

A five-page website and a multi-part platform get the same attention to detail. Only the scope changes.

Based in Nairobi

We know what building here involves: customers on phones and mobile data, M-Pesa at checkout, and businesses growing faster than their tools.

Most of our work so far is with businesses in Nairobi. We work just as happily with clients elsewhere in Kenya, across Africa or further afield, in person or remotely.

Tell us what you need.

Not sure whether you need a website or something bigger? That’s a good place to start the conversation.

Rather talk it through?
